Love all music. At 19 years old, I practiced so that the music I learned/played/studied “sounded” like; jazz eras (ragtime, 2-beat, swing, be-bop, straight ahead and contemporary), blues (delta, boogie-woogie, Chicago), country, rock, pop and especially the different classical periods and the individual composers therein. When composing became my passion, the time came to compose “authentic” sounds. The above styles of “playing” became a life-long journey (not as simple to compose as to play) creating music that IS what it like. Chicago blues legends I have met over the years used to say succinctly “if it don’t sound like the blues, don’t play it”. This holds true for all music. Keep it real. Tim
